Dr. Karissa Culbreath is active in academic and community realms. Karissa holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology. She serves the community in various capacities and has been recognized for her roles in leadership and community development. She is an active member of the local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Karissa serves as in her local church, New Covenant Worship Center, and is a licensed minister.
Karissa is a sought after speaker and author of her first children’s book, Daddy’s Little Girl which has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award. This story highlights the role of the affirmations of a father in building those dreams in a young girl. From doctor, to architect, to teacher, to firefighter, girls can be anything they want to be.
Karissa has a passion to empower individuals to achieve spiritual, emotional and personal balance and seeks to provide people of all ages with the tools to achieve this challenging task. She seeks to connect to her generation through maintaining her authenticity and charm while delivering powerful messages on living a purposeful life.
By far, her greatest achievement is in her personal life — she is blessed to share her life with her husband, daughter, and son.
